THE ROCK ‘N’ READ COURSE

12-hour course

Target Audience: Pre-K through 5th grade classroom teachers and specialists

Have fun learning songs and games that enliven young children, create joyful classroom communities, while enabling children’s brains for language and literacy. Learn neuroscientific-based strategies to use with children from prenatal on to enable their auditory processing, beat synchronization, phonological awareness and auditory memory. These foundational skills are critical to becoming fluent readers. Strategies work with existing curricula.

Lincoln was #1 in the increase in phonemic awareness from fall to winter…of ALL the Minneapolis schools. Coincidence? I think not! I think singing!!!!!

Teacher Testimonials

  • Once I start singing, my students seem to be in a trance. They drop everything, join in singing, and move to the group area.

  • I have heard them singing these songs all over school.

  • The kids are loving the folktale books and songs. I would never have thought these would be so motivating for 5th graders, but I know they like it when they are asking to sing and dance during recess!!

  • My data is coming in—there is a definite difference between this year and every other year that I have taught. Half of my class is almost a full grade level ahead of where they need to be reading.

  • The most significant increase for kindergartners has been in their rhyming scores—usually my children’s scores increase 5-5.6 points (avg), but the year I followed your program, their scores increased 10 points (avg).

  • My students’ growth has been amazing!

  • This is the best class I’ve ever taken!
